I love discovering new music. I saw Stevy Mahy (French Guadeloupean singer/songwriter) perform in Haiti in July; and I am in love. Her voice, lyrics and vibe is just so beautiful. It’s fitting that one of her hit songs is titled “Beautiful“. Take a gander and let me know what you think. Do you have any ‘new’ or fave artists that you wanna share?
What’s your truth?
Nothing like my wide toothy grin on this Fall day hunh? I have been trying to take advantage of the limited sunny days that we had left to wear shorts. I definitely plan on wearing these shorts with tights as the temps drop, but for now; I’m showing a little leg. Who gonna check me boo?
When I bought this pink blazer I wasn’t in love, but it fulfilled my need for a pink blazer. I don’t really like silver or gold buttons or zippers on my garments, but you gotta make it do what it do right?
I love the iced out owl.
These pink “suede” shoes are my new bffs. I love the deep magenta/fuchsia hue. Perfect addition for Fall.
Have you made any new purchases that you’re excited about for this season?

My apologies for my absence. I had an intensive three day training to attend at work. Which brings me to Mai High of the Week. Although I was counting down the hours to leave, I am glad that I have another skill to add to my list of accomplishments. So I guess the annoying training served a purpose after all.
What about you, what was your high of the week?
I’m back with another work look. I must say that I really liked my outfit today. I’m a big fan of tailored dresses and high heels. I also firmly believe that adding a blazer to any outfit automatically makes it professional. I’m sure there are some exceptions to that rule, but so far it’s worked for me.
I used to love wearing eyeshot, and I fell off completely during the summer. I actually don’t wear much of any makeup during the summer. Now that the weather is cooler, I’m excited to be trying my hand at colorful lids again.
Love this necklace
I had a long talk with my supervisor about being caged/boxed in. I made an off hand comment about bird cages and we somehow started talking about relationships and perspectives. It’s always funny what becomes a conversation piece.
I am loving these babies. The leopard print, the bow on the back and the concealed platform! Goodness, they babies give me life. They’re also fine to walk in so that makes me even happier.

The Rebecca Black song popped in my head as I was writing this post. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it in it’s entirety though. Although I work in a very very casual workplace, I like to dress up and look like I’m going to work during the week. At least I hope it looks like I’m going to work. Fridays and sick days are the only days that I allow myself to be casual.
My casual usually consists of a top (I rarely wear t shirts) and jeans. Continue reading
Fall is unofficially here, but the chill is officially here to stay. Unlike most style bloggers, I do not look forward to Fall. Sure getting dressed is more fun, but I will never be happy that it’s cold out.
My truth for today is that I’m content. I think things are under control in my life, and I’m slowly but surely getting things done, so I am very happy about that. A work in progress y’all.
What’s your truth for today?
Good tidings readers!
Notice anything different around here? Like the fact that all of my pictures are headless today? This wasn’t intentional I swear. I was trying to do close up detailed shots, and the pics that are full body aren’t very clear. You all know what I look like anyways.
When I tried this outfit on last night, the title is the first thing that popped into my head. I look like a dominatrix librarian. Although I’ve never seen one, I think I might fit the bill, especially with the black obi belt. Continue reading
