Hello hello!

Hope you are all well and staying cool. I seem to be the only person that doesn’t mind and dare I say occasionally enjoys this muggy hot weather that we are having here in the Northeast. Ok, maybe not the muggy part, but I prefer summer to fall, winter and spring. Most people say that it is difficult to be stylish in the summer because they are fighting the heat. However I like when it’s hot. I know what to expect. Unlike in the fall, I don’t have to layer all of my outfits with tights and scarves. In the winter, I am lucky if anyone gets a chance to see what I have on. Spring! Geesh don’t get me started. The temperature fluctuates so much that I have to have a sweater or blazer with me at all times. In summary lol, I LOVE getting dressed in the summer.

Yes, I really did just dedicate two paragraphs to the weather.

Pattern mixing can be fun. I loved that the black and white stripes complemented the black, gray and white design on the skirt.

Love the detailing on the belt buckle

I just might have to cheat on my old shoes with the new kid in town. I LOVE these shoes. The bright cerulean hue, cutout design and the cork platform and heel!! Ooo weee!!

Blazer: H&M, Top and Shoes: Marshall’s; Skirt: Target Purse: Aldo

*Elton John song “LA lady, blue jean baby. Seamstress for the band”. The song popped in my head while looking at the shoes. Do you associate any items in your closet with a particular song or chorus?

Hello, hello!

So, I had a date today. (imagine this said to me dancing a jig). We’ll call him LC. This is our 2nd date. The task of planning the date was placed firmly on my dainty shoulders. And boy was it a difficult task, which made no sense because I am always finding mischief to get into with my girls. I think it was hard because LC is still a stranger and I’m still learning what he likes to do and trying to make sure it’s something that I’m into as well. Hence why we’re on a date right there are other nefarious reasons but good girls don’t kiss and tell right?

The back sold me on this dress, how could I not get it?

Always dressed up

Hope you guys and gals are all well. Not too many words today. I am really loving the sequins trend right now. Although I don’t have much sequins in my closet, sequins just seem to be something that liven up any outfit. This is what I wore to work today.

Looks as if I’m wishing on a star

Who knew this Mr. T-esque gold chain would become such a staple!

The little girl in me loves everything sequined!

We don’t have a dress code at work, so I am almost always “overdressed”. However, I don’t consider myself overdressed or dressed up. I like to look nice and I don’t think I should save my clothes for some special event; especially since I spend 5 days a week and 8hrs a day at my weekday job.

Love, love these wedges. So chic & cute. Love the various textures.

Are you ever made to feel as if you’re always overdressed, or are your friends, coworkers and family into fashion and style too?

Blooper: When checking yourself out goes wrong lol.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the beautiful, dedicated and hardworking moms. I am often left in awe at some of the awesome moms that I have met in my lifetime. They are an inspiration to everyone that they meet.

I technically am not a fan of most holidays, but I did send flowers to my stepmom and I took my good friend out for lunch. I am her son’s godmother. She and I have been friends for quite some time and we share a very similar story, which has helped bond us over the years. My friend didn’t want to be photographed, because she didn’t know that she should look nice for our lunch date. This is the part where I roll my eyes, Hello!! How long has she known me? I wouldn’t take her to McDonald’s for lunch, and she knows that I am almost always “overdressed”. So enjoy the pictures of yours truly and our lunch picks.

I took her to Ledge, a casual dining restaurant in Dorchester. Their menu is a bit small, but I can usually find something I like.

I settled on a turkey burger

She had a strawberry puree martini, and I had the mango mint mojito.

My meal wasn’t quite to my liking, but I was hungry so of course I ate to my heart’s content.

I can’t believe people still stare when I pose for pictures in random places, lol.

I love my new wedges, this is my first pair of black wedges and these babies are snazzy.

These bangles are proving to be my new faves. I love how they look like some traditional Indian bangles.

I was not particularly sold on the mullet dress/skirt, also known as the hi low dress/skirt. That was until my eyes fell upon this little beauty. I love the vibrant blue and the pleated skirt.

My friend wanted to get some action shots of me strutting/skipping then I noticed we had an audience. I’m still not used to the audience factor of blogging.
